Mikko Meriläinen is a researcher who joined Game Research Lab in 2018. He is currently finishing his doctoral dissertation at the University of Helsinki. Mikko is an educational researcher focusing on adolescent and young adult digital game players’ well-being, and is one of Finland’s leading experts in game education and game-related child rearing practices. His other interests include esports and social justice issues in gaming culture. An avid gamer since age five, Mikko divides his time between digital games, miniatures, RPGs and kung fu.
